Mission
- To study, plan and implement programs and projects with full participation of Ethiopian Canadians to accomplish the vision, aims and objectives of the Network.
- To undertake advocacy and support activities anchored to pillars of citizenship, democracy and responsible governance needed to promote peace, development, and respect for human rights in Ethiopia.
- To respond to emergency humanitarian needs in Ethiopia.
- To support, encourage, and enable Ethiopian Canadians to actively engage in Canadian civic activities of volunteerism and political engagement.
- To coordinate the recruitment and sending of professionals–medical doctors, engineers, environmentalists, educators, and other volunteers who are dedicated to serve in various sectors within Ethiopia with the objective to alleviating poverty.
- To initiate and support projects that would improve the wellbeing and safety of the youth of Ethiopian Canadian origin, empower and nurture them to be good citizens of Canada, and create opportunity for them to ultimately help Ethiopia in fields of health, education, environment, and development.
- To help build harmonious and strong relations between Ethiopian Canadians and the Canadian society at large.
- To undertake research, organize conferences and take other actions designed to meet the missions of the Network.
- To disseminate accurate, viable and timely information about Ethiopia and to promote development and investment cooperation between the Governments of Ethiopia and Canada and with the private sectors.
- To establish channels of communication and maintain liaison with relevant stakeholders including the different levels of the government of Canada, the Ethiopian Embassy in Canada, public and private agencies in Canada, Ethiopian community associations and institutions in Canada, the government of Ethiopia, political stakeholders in Ethiopia, civic associations and humanitarian agencies in Ethiopia and various international organizations.
